PIP breast implant assessments available at three Benson Radiology sites
Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibersek has announced that patients with the French PIP breast implants can now access a Medicare rebate for an MRI to assess the integrity of their implants.
As one of the nation's largest private providers of diagnostic imaging services, Benson Radiology is providing MRI assessments of PIP breast implants at three branches.
The scans will be conducted on state-of-the-art, wide-bore MRI scanners located at our Morphett Vale, Ashford and Salisbury branches. These scanners provide images of the highest quality, while comfortably accommodating patients.
Eligibility for the MRI Medicare rebate is for 12 months from Monday 12 March. To ensure patients have timely access to the MRI services, referrals can be obtained from GP's.
Benson Radiology will complete these scans with no out of pocket expense to the patients, and all scans will be reported by our well-respected breast MRI specialists, Doctors Jill Robinson and Shan Bau.
